Short Course series: Understanding of disasters and stakeholder intervention for disaster risk reduction
Periperi u partners based at Ardhi University, Tanzania will be hosting a series of one day short course which are designed improve understanding of disasters and means of reducing disaster risk among communities in Dar es Salaam.
The first of these courses which will be held on 17 January 2018 is too raise awareness and understanding of local hazards and risks for communities residing along the Kizinga River in Temeke district of Dar es Salaam City, as well as provide instruction on how interventive measures initiated by local communities can contribute to reducing local risks
The other three courses, which will be held on each of the days between the 7 - 9 February 2018 are focused upon instructing technical staff from local goverment offices in the region about local hazards, disasters, and how these institutions can better contribute to reducing risks.
