The University of Science, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB) is a major public university in Mali, established in 2011 following the restructuring of the former University of Bamako into specialized institutions. It serves as the country’s leading centre for science, technology, engineering, and health sciences education and research.

USTTB adopts a multidisciplinary approach, bringing together faculties and institutes such as the Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Institute of Applied Sciences. These units provide training from undergraduate to doctoral levels in fields including engineering, natural sciences, environmental studies, and health sciences.

The university is actively engaged in research addressing national and regional challenges, including public health, environmental sustainability, energy, and technological innovation. Its work integrates laboratory research, clinical practice, and field-based studies, enabling practical solutions to real-world problems.

USTTB also collaborates with government institutions, hospitals, and international partners to strengthen research capacity and support evidence-based policy development. Through its programmes and partnerships, the university contributes to human resource development, scientific advancement, and sustainable socio-economic growth in Mali and the wider region.
